Heavy Mental Audio returns to Apotheka for a night of deep, futuristic, and mental techno. This edition features the Manila debut of Andy Martin, a Mexican-Jamaican artist celebrated for his "sci-fi techno" that blends Latin Caribbean sounds with a futuristic edge.
The "HMA-sound" exists at the intersection of techno-influenced 4/4 arrangements and the syncopated rhythms of post-dubstep. From a Manila-based perspective, reconciling these two sonic strands has been a core mission of the collective, pushing forward new sonic possibilities within the local dance music landscape.
