Led by Hisakazu Koya, the Tokyo-based ensemble Amakusa Umibozu (Sea Monsters) returns to Hong Kong for a night of boundary-pushing sound. By injecting "improvisational genes" into noise rock, they craft a sonic experience that sits somewhere between avant-funk and progressive rock. Their live performance is a precise yet chaotic experiment, designed to keep the audience on edge.
Sharing the stage is Gwaan1 Jyu5 Knife (Little Try), an act that defies traditional instrumentation by utilizing the rare Chapman Stick. Their music reinterprets Three Kingdoms mythology through the lens of contemporary progressive rock, offering a unique, multi-layered narrative experience.
This concert represents a cross-generational exchange of experimental souls, bridging the underground music scenes of Tokyo and Hong Kong.
